We analyze client requirements and data provided to come up with the strategic solutions to ensure that the client’s business is well established, grows and sustainable.
Accounting and bookkeeping support
Collecting source documents for the purpose of processing them into Pastel Accounting, QuickBooks, MS Excel, in order to generate management reports, which eventually result in an entity’s financial statements.
Tax advice and support
Provide support to clients regarding their tax affairs including tax planning, completion and submission of returns, tax registration forms, tax clearance certificates and tax advice.
Registered Accounting Officers for Close Corporations
We are registered Accounting Officers according to section 62 of the Close Corporation act, 1984 and a member of the South African Institute for Business Accountants. There are a number of other entities which falls under this act of which we are entitled to act as their Accounting Officers. This includes.

Zulu & Associates is an Sole Proprietor Accounting Firm formed and controlled by Black South African. Our firm operates based on principles of Broad based Black Economic Empowerments in order to redress the disadvantages in economic participation and employment experience by historically disadvantage individuals and to ensure their representation in all occupational categories and levels of the work force within our firm.
Management
A.C. Zulu - Owner
A vibrant and versatile individual who joined Gird Elliott and Company (Chartered Accountants) in 2004 to serve his articles in the accounting department. Before joining Gird Elliott and Company he studied through Durban University of Technology formally known as Durban Institute of Technology and now he is qualified as an Accounting Officer according to Close Corporations Act, 1984.
The experience that he gained at Gird Elliott and Company includes the followings:
- Processing from prime entries to produce trial balance
- Drafting financials according to SA GAAP
- Close Corporation registrations
- Company and individual tax
- Value Added Tax
- Debtors and Creditors
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- EMP101 registration forms, EMP201 returns, VAT101 registration form, VAT201 returns, UI8 application to register as an employer, UI19 returns, IT12, IT14, IRP501 reconciliations, IRP5 returns, IRP6, SARS E-Filing, just to mention a few.
He gained more experience on creditors from Esayidi TVET College from working as a Creditors Controller.

Our fees
Our fees are based upon the degree of responsibility and skill involved and time necessarily dedicated to your work. Unless otherwise specifically agreed in writing, our fees will be charged separately for each of the main classes of work mentioned above and will be billed at appropriate intervals during the course of the year.
Fees are calculated either:
- On an hourly basis at charge out rates applicable to the person undertaking the work. Stringent reporting requirements or deadlines imposed by you might require work to be carried out at a higher level than usual or in extreme cases outside normal working hours. This will result in increased costs. Our current maximum and minimum rates for normal work within normal working hours applicable from time to time my be obtained on request;
- Or on a tariff basis for taxation or Close Corporation secretarial services. These rates are available on request at the time matters are specifically referred to us.
Time spent on the telephone is recorded and charged at normal rates. Outlays in respect of traveling expenses, photocopies, stationery, revenue stamps, postage and telephone calls will be recoverable at cost to us or our predetermined rates.
